Introduction of RFID/NFC technology

Bolster Systems are delighted to introduce RFID/NFC labelling and tagging functionality through our easy-to-use application. RFID/NFC technology lets URLs easily be attached to tags, chips, plugs, or external labels through the Bolster Systems app. Utilising your device's RFID Scanner offers an efficient solution for accessing installation information and adding further histories, allowing users to scan the tag through the app and provide essential information for future surveys and installations.

This further labelling and tagging functionality builds on the current Bluetooth laser printing and QR identification options available through Bolster Systems. You can learn more about all three solutions by downloading our brochure here.

If you would like to proceed with RFID/NFC through your Bolster Systems account, here is a helpful guide to the technical specification required, how to assign RFID tags to pins and contact details for our recommended supplier.

In-app camera enhancements

As last month's newsletter discussed, we have brought the camera functionality in-app instead of directly accessing the device's native camera. Throughout February, we have worked on further usability improvements to our in-app camera and are pleased to announce these are now available through the latest app version. These improvements are:

  • Automatic flash
  • Wide-angle zoom* and preset zoom levels
  • Volume button functionality to capture images
  • Tap to refocus

*through compatible devices

Pin tasks improvements

Through pin tasks, admins can now set tasks quarterly, semi-annually and annually. This improvement coincides with the update to Fire regulatory reforms released in January, which stipulate timeframes for fire door inspections. Ensure your company or organisation adheres to these regulatory requirements. Complete checks or periodical works on time by assigning the correct pins to the right operatives.

If you would like to learn more or how to set up pin tasks, do not hesitate to contact our dedicated client liaison team.

Minor changes and bug fixes

Finally, we have implemented some simple usability improvements and bug fixes to both the desktop and app. These include user output through the desktop timesheet log, template scroll, pre-fill improvements in-app, and tweaks to account timezone settings aligned with daylight savings.
