Upload images from the camera roll

Bolster Systems are happy to advise that through the application, users will now have the ability to upload images from their device's gallery. This feature will allow the documentation of previously installed works through the app and improve the recording of staged work, such as fire door installations, as a single pin history.

If you want to add the ability to upload from the image gallery through your templates, please get in touch with our client liaison team, who will happily make the necessary amendments.

Report Generation Improvements

1) Installation documents through reports

Earlier this year, we improved how pin option documents are linked and output through pin histories via the desktop and application. We have built further on this functionality, and now a direct link to the correct documents per pin history is output through generated PDF, CSV and XLSX reports. This update effortlessly compiles the required O&M information for project handover as operatives record pin data on-site.It also makes sure that building owners and contractors have peace of mind knowing they have specific and accurate information for each product used. This information can be used for future surveys or remedial works.

2) Generate reports as excel workbooks (.xlsx)

Further to the existing PDF and CSV report output options, we have this month added Excel Workbooks (.xlsx). .xlsx facilities the storage of more complex data. So as our template builder develops, we have ensured the export options align with data captured through the Bolster System. Furthermore, .xlsx will allow users to use pre-existing macros and filter criteria seamlessly through generated Bolster Systems reports.

3) Ability to generate reports for individual pins and zones

Using the advanced filters of Individual pins and Zones for your drawings, users will now have the option to generate individual report. This process will create separate PDF or CSV documents for each pin or zone selected at the click of a button. Save valuable time and avoid repetitive processes when collating the correct information.

4) Bolster plus measurement output improvements

Through our Bolster Plus add-on Costing & Estimating, users can record detailed installation measurement data for every product installed. For pin options that have selected square metre and cubic metre as their unit of measurement, companies can now opt-in to output both the calculated area and the exact width, height and length recorded through the desktop, app and generated reports.

Document Library Improvements

Quick access to accurate, easily understandable and up-to-date documents is a fundamental step to ensure a golden thread of information is achievable throughout the lifecycle of a building. The Bolster Systems document library feature facilities this. Earlier this month, we added the ability to specify if all users can access folders and documents uploaded, certain user types or selected individual users.

Guest Access and Company Permissions

When another Bolster approved company is invited to work on your uploaded drawings, as the drawing owner, you can now determine if the invited company can grant read-only guest access to these drawings. Creating a common data environment for all necessary third parties will allow the right people to find and extract the correct information regarding their building safety data at the right time.

Other Improvements

As always, we continually carry out bug fixes, minor improvements and enhancements to the System. Throughout March, this work focused on updating the main app code base in line with framework updates and enhancements to the SOS image recovery process. Both changes have returned performance improvement through the Bolster Systems app.
